Why Are Are Mommy and Me Photoshoots so important?!

So many times, us mamas tend to be behind the camera, capturing our littles, and we often forget that WE need to get in these memories too.

As a mother myself, I know how fleeting time can be. One minute your baby is swaddled in your arms, and the next they are running around the house in a princess/super hero costume. Mommy and Me sessions are a chance to freeze these moments in time and capture those unseen, in between moments.

What Is a Mommy and Me Session?

During your session, I will work with your little one in a calm, fun atmosphere to create and capture these memories. Everything is completely candid, and your littles can just be themselves. Hug on them a little tighter, tickle those little toes, and I’ll take care of the rest!

Let me slow down time, for just a little while, and capture these moments for you to keep for a lifetime.

My absolute favorite part of this job is meeting these sweet families and watching them grow!

Would you believe me if I told you that I photographed that handsome big brother’s newborn session just TWO years ago?! It’s crazy how fast this life goes - I feel like I JUST met this sweet boy.

Erin came to me when her first son was born and we have grown an incredible relationship since then. When she told me she was having another baby boy, I just KNEW Mr. Mason was going to make the best big brother! Here a few of my favorite images from their session!

2022 was a year of extreme growth for me! I opened up my own studio, hit some major business goals and met so many amazing families!

As we ring in 2023, I honestly have no clue what’s in store for us, but I am so excited for all that it brings!

Why Printing Your Digital Files Is So Important

Capturing a moment and freezing it in time is one of the biggest benefits of photography. We take a photo and are able to look at it and remember the exact moment it was taken - the location, occasion and emotions felt in that moment.

You know the drill-take a ton of photos on your phone and swear you’ll do something with them, but then they just sit there. For months, or even years. Yeah sure, you’ll post a few favorites on social media, get some comments, but then what? How many times have you gone to look for a certain image, but its impossible to find. Hours of scrolling through your thousands of photos on your phone, looking through Facebook albums, and you just cannot find this one specific image- how frustrating!

It’s so easy to convince ourselves that we will print the photos soon- then life happens and we get preoccupied with our day to day life, juggling work and kids, etc. As a mother I KNOW how important these memories are to us, but I also know how easily we get distracted, and before you know it, those photos that we swore we would do something with become archives. Do you know how many clients I’ve had come to me months, or even years later, asking me if I still have their galleries because they can’t seem to find or access the link? These are your most precious memories, and while technology is amazing, and being able to share these moments on your social media accounts with family and friends is GREAT, it cannot be the only format for your images.

Printing your files creates a tangible memory

Guests aren’t going to walk into your home and ask to pull up your computer to look at photos of your family. Your future grandkids aren’t going to have to scroll through thousands of archives to find photos of their parents and memories-if they can even access them in 20+ years-who knows how much technology will advance by then?! A printed images becomes something you can hold onto forever. Display those gorgeous kiddos on the wall for guests to walk in and see. Create a beautiful album of your favorite baby or family photos to keep on a coffee table or book shelf so that when your future kids/grandkids come over they can easily flip through and see. Create those conversations, create more memories by telling them about all those details in that exact moment of the photograph. Having these printed photos paint a picture and place us back in those moments.

Picture it-you just spend a couple hundred dollars on a professional photo session and all those beautiful image are now just sitting on your computer. Don’t you want to show off your family?! Don’t you want to walk into your home and see those precious faces hanging on display to look at every day?! Printed photos also make amazing gifts for those not so tech-savvy parents/grandparents. Print out a large canvas of your favorite image, create a customized album for them to flip through of your most memorable moments. The digital world is constantly changing and in 20+ years we may not have access to any of the images we have now. We may not be able to insert a USB drive or downloads a JPEG file. Whatever you do, whatever style you like best- PRINT THOSE PHOTOS
